Awestruck

I think this little man was awestruck by the journey he’d just survived and the weird place he’d found himself in and I was awestruck by the miracle of a new life.

awestruck

I’m a sister, wife, mother, grandmother, auntie and friend. I prefer to be outside and am interested in photography, nature and different cultures. I believe everything on this earth has a right to be here but some things and some people would be happiest if their space was far away from mine. (Flies and biting bugs take note!) I don’t like housework and think dust is Nature’s way of saying, “This is my space, I was here first.”

  1. Beautiful baby, beautiful words about his arrival here too! Nothing can compare to an event of another life to this earth, another person who brings and needs love. The poet said it so well “…Not in utter nakedness…but trailing clouds of glory do we come, from God who is our home.”

  2. It’s funny how this picture got me to wondering about awe.. When else do we experience such complete awe ? I imagine the first explorers to a new and strange land experienced a similar awe but not as complete.. At least they had familiar air they breathed and the natural 4 elements found everywhere.. But each baby born experiences breathing air for the first time.. The world is full of light for the first time.. first contact with another human for the first time.. hearing would be a new sound too.. I can only imagine one other time we may know exactly that same awe again.. That would be the day we meet our creator..
Whether a person is a believer or not, we’ll all share that same complete awestruck emotion.. I don’t intend this post to try and convert anyone, it’s my opinion.. 😊

    1. The baby’s entrance into the world wasn’t ideal with lots of people, glaring theatre lights etc so it would have been overload! A recent thunder storm here had me awestruck but not in the same emotional way. The miracle of birth is the ultimate as far as I’m concerned. Thanks for your thoughful response.

  3. The whole miracle of a new life is awesome – I have often wondered what it must feel like for the baby, hopefully they feel the love and reassurance more than any other emotion.

So, what do you think?
