Weekly Photo Challenge: Forward

A Very Forward Girl
A Very Forward Girl

This sculpture represents the “Nullabor Nymph”,  racing forward through the bush, reported several times in newspapers in the early 1970s before being exposed as a hoax. The sculpture is sited in front of the Flinders Hospital in Adelaide, a place where my daughter and grandson were recently involved in some research into childhood allergies and hopefully we can look forward to new treatments and preventative measures as a result. Next to the hospital is Flinders University where my grand-niece has just enrolled and is moving forward along her chosen career path. I don’t know the official reason the site was chosen for the statue but it is meaningful to me.

I’m a sister, wife, mother, grandmother, auntie and friend. I prefer to be outside and am interested in photography, nature and different cultures. I believe everything on this earth has a right to be here but some things and some people would be happiest if their space was far away from mine. (Flies and biting bugs take note!) I don’t like housework and think dust is Nature’s way of saying, “This is my space, I was here first.”

So, what do you think?
